Experimental Approach, Computational DFT Investigation and a Biological Activity in the Study of an Organic Heterocyclic Compound by Tribak Z in Archives of Organic and Inorganic Chemical Sciences in Lupine Publishers

The title compound TZ1 was synthesized by N-alkylation reaction, and its structure was confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR, it was screened for their in vitro antibacterial activity by the agar well diffusion method against four bacteria, Gram-positive (Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa). The molecule was studied with the density functional theory (DFT) at B3LYP/6–31G (d,p) level in order to determine the relationship between the molecular structure and the antibacterial inhibition behavior. The molecular geometry, frontier molecular orbitals and Mulliken atomic charge of the compound are investigated to get a better insight of the molecular properties. The molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) for a compound was determined to check their electrophilic or nucleophilic reactivity. The theoretical parameters offer significant assistance to understand the antibacterial inhibition mechanism indicated by the molecule and are in full agreement with the experimental results.

Effects of Caffeine on Physical and Cognitive Performance: A Brief Review: (SJPBS)- Lupinepublishers

Caffeine is one of the most extensively studied and widely used ergogenic aid capable of improving many aspects of sport performance and cognitive abilities [1-12]. Some of the acute effects of caffeine supplementation are increases anaerobic power output and performance, increased muscular strength, endurance, and power, improvements to aerobic endurance, reduced fatigue, decreased RPE and pain, increased voluntary workload, and increased alertness [1-8]. Chronic caffeine consumption has also been shown to have a positive effect on long term memory, locomotor improvements, and overall mood state [9-11]. Some of the positive effects of athletic performance attributed to caffeine ingestion can be explained by its ability to moderate insulin sensitivity, increase plasma free fatty acids (FFAs), and increase plasma epinephrine [12]. These results demonstrated that caffeine consumption can allow more glucose and FFAs to be available in the blood for immediate energy. Furthermore, caffeine has been shown to increase calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum of muscle fibers, which could result in increased actinmyosin binding and therefore increased force production [12]. Some of the acute physical effects of caffeine supplementation are increases anaerobic power output and performance, increased muscular strength, endurance and power, improvements to aerobic endurance, and reduced fatigue [1,3-6,8].

Does the Use of Patient Decision Aid (PDA) Influence the Patterns of Surgery for Stress Urinary Incontinence?: (OAJRSD) - Lupinepublishers

Currently, there are safety concerns regarding the use of mesh tape, the most commonly performed surgical procedure for the management of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. A recent independent review from Australia suggested that the use of mesh tapes should be the last surgical resort for women [1]. Many patients seeking legal compensation following mesh complications claimed they were not offered any surgical alternative. Despite the recommendation from the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) of equally offering mesh and non-mesh SUI procedures, the number women undergoing the former is significantly more than those undergoing the latter [2]. Patient decision aids (PDAs) have been shown to increase patient knowledge, clarity about their own values and accuracy of risk perceptions with regards to various options [3].

Improved Enantioselective Enzymatic Synthesis of (S) - Pregabalin: (AOICS) -Lupine Publishers

Improved Enantioselective Enzymatic Synthesis of (S) - Pregabalin by Madhuresh Sethi in Archive of organic and inorganic chemical sciences(AOICS) in Lupine Publishers

The manuscript aims to throw light on the route of synthesis of (3S)-3-(Amino methyl)-5-methylhexanoic acid: (PREGABALIN), which is a cost effective and efficient route. Pregabalin is a drug that is used in the treatment of epilepsy, neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and generalized anxiety disorder. This process of synthesis makes use of a liquid enzyme to avoid cost hike and improves the overall chiral purity of the final product accompanied with improved higher yields and purity. The investigational studies performed in this article will help improve the existing processes in certain aspects as discussed above.

Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry and Its Applications: A Brief Review: (AOICS) - Lupine Publishers

Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry and Its Applications: A Brief Review by Nikalje Anna Pratima and Ramesh Gadikar in Archive of organic and inorganic chemical sciences (AOICS) in Lupine Publishers

The Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) is a powerful analytical technique with very high sensitivity and specificity. LC-MS is combination of Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Mass Spectrometry (MS). With the Liquid Chromatography (LC) the separation of components can be done and then the sample eluents from LC are transferred into Mass Spectrometry (MS) where the detection, identification and determination of masses of components can be done in presence of other components. LC-MS is used in determination, of pharmaceutical drug substances, intermediates and its related compounds for quantitative and qualitative purpose. LC-MS is used most significantly in in-vitro dissolution, bio-equivalence, bioavailability and metabolite studies. Also LC-MS is used in basic research, agrochemical, forensic laboratories and food industries .In this article principle of LC-MS, instrumentation and its applications are briefly discussed.
