Chemically-Induced Peptic Ulcer: Gastroprotective Effects of Peach Fruit: CTGH-Lupine Publishers

Peptic ulcer, an inflammatory breach in the gastric and duodenal mucosa, is caused by hyper secretion of gastric acid and defective mucosal protective elements, affecting approximately 4 million people each year. The currently available antiulcer drugs are reported to have severe side effects. Hence, there is a need to develop more effective and less toxic alternative therapeutic agents from natural sources. The current study was conducted to investigate the therapeutic potential of Prunus persica Linn. Batsch fruit (Peach) against chemically-induced gastric and duodenal ulcers.

Hamstring Injuries in Taekwondo: Injury Patterns and Performance Following Conservative Therapy-A Case Series Involving Four Elite Athlete: (OSMOAJ) - Lupine Publishers

Abstract
Background: Hamstring injuries frequently occur in sports involving explosive movement patterns and can cause lengthy downtimes. Data on hamstring injuries in Taekwondo is completely lacking. In a case study with four top Taekwondo athletes we describe the specific characteristics of this type of injury, the resulting downtimes and the athletes’ performance following conservative treatment, for the first time.
Methods: In a retrospective study, the hamstring injuries of four top international athletes were examined. Injuries were diagnosed by means of MRI. All injuries were classified according to severity and given an MRI score (min. 3, max. 19 points). Performance parameters for assessment included the number match points achieved in the 12 months prior to and following injury, tournament participation and downtime. Recurrent ruptures and contra lateral injuries were also taken into consideration.
Results: Athletes were aged between 16 and 25 (average age 20.3 years).Injuries were exclusively proximal ruptures. The MRI score was between 5 and 9 (mean value 6.5 points). All injuries involved the semi membranous muscle. Ruptures did not extend significantly into the cross-section of the muscle. Manifestation of all injuries in the MRI was without retraction. The average downtime before returning to competition was 69.2 days. The number of match points gained in the 12 months following injury dropped by an average of 19.8. Two athletes suffered recurrent ruptures and two had contra lateral ruptures.

What is beyond the Nivolumab Monotherapy approval for advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma?: (OAJOM)-Lupine Publishers

With an estimated 500,000 new cases per year, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) represents the third leading cause of cancer death worldwide. The incidence is rising in the west, largely due to an increasing incidence of hepatitis C virus infection [1]. The majority of HCC patients are diagnosed with disease too advanced for curative treatment. Only liver resection and liver transplantation are considered curative, with poor efficiency of other modalities such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), although this may provide a modest prolongation in survival; however, the relapse in the majority of these patients is inevitable [2]. An array of translational research and pilot clinical trials have revealed that adoptive immunotherapy’s are safe by patients with HCC, but they lack efficacy [3]. Now, we are in the new era of immunotherapy’s such as immune checkpoint inhibitors and CAR-T strategies, which would bring benefit to the HCC patients.

Nano Toxicity: Due to Drug Delivery and Environmental Exposure: ANOAJ-Lupine Publishers

Nanotechnology is undergoing a vast expansion in materials science, Research and Development. Nano scientists are focusing on synthesis and development of nanoparticles, nanomaterials, and bio nano composite materials. The drug delivery is also a recent development where in bio nano materials are being used for diagnosis of the various diseases. The synthesis of nanomaterials at large scale causes health risk due to the exposure via inhalation, skin contacts and ingestion; based on the characterisation of bio nano materials. The use of bio nanomaterials in drug delivery as well as the environment exposure during the large-scale synthesis of nanomaterials, the bio nanomaterials into human body. The exact mechanisms, chemical reactivity and enzymatic reaction is not well understood, documented, and studied. Therefore, the intake bio nanomaterials via drug delivery or environment exposure amounts to health risk and need to be studied in detail.

Application of Nanotechnology for Phyto Constituents: Review: ANOAJ-Lupine Publishers

Herbal medicines have been widely used around the world since ancient times. Medicinal plants are most effective when their active constituent reach at the site of action. Most of plant contains flavonoids, tannins, and terpenoids, which are hydrophilic and unable to cross the lipid membranes of the cells so poor absorption, results in less bio availability and efficacy hence need to take in high dose and frequency of dose also increases. If they are formulated using nanotechnology, due to nano ¬structured systems might be able to potentiate the action of plant extracts also reduce the required dose and side effects, and improving activity. Research has shown that use of nanotechnology and formulations like nano liposomes, nano emulsions, lipid nanocarries, phytosomes, micelles and poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles beneficial in case of phyto constituent they increases the rate of absorption bio availability and result in better effect of herbal medicines [1-10].

Cancer and Advantages of Immunosuppression: (OAJOM)-Lupine publishers

As oncologists learn to target the immune response to “self and non-self,” a delicate therapy balance will eventually be achieved with predictable outcomes, benefits, and toxicity in the fightThe study of how the immune system recognizes friend and foe, or as the immunologist Sir Macfarlane Burnet phrased it, “distinguishes between self and non-self,” has driven important discoveries that are transforming our ability to treat cancer.

Nanoparticles and the Building Industry-A Short Review: ANOAJ-Lupine Publishers

Nanoparticles have been used to protect the exteriors of built structures for many years, with nTiO2 having a major role in the production of self-cleaning surfaces. Photo catalysis leads to the liberation of substances such as Reactive Oxygen Species, which can effectively remove organic contaminants, including the disfiguring microbial growths, from the surfaces. Light exposure is not essential for this activity, however some engineered nanoparticles have been shown to have inherent antimicrobial properties. Other nanometals have been employed, sometimes together with TiO2, or with materials such as stone consolidants. A brief review of some recent research in the area, including ecological problems that can arise when the particles are released into the environment, is presented. It is essential that standard testing methods, both for nanoparticle efficacy and for ecotoxicological effects, be developed. Nanoparticles (NPs) of metal oxides have been used to protect building surfaces against microbial bio film formation for many years. NPs of TiO2 (n-TiO2), especially, have been used to produce surfaces that are self-cleaning on exposure to light, when photo catalytic activity destroys organic materials, including microorganisms.

Targeting the Immune Checkpoint in Cancer: Is This a Viable Treatment Option for AML?: (OAJOM)-Lupine Publishers

Targeting the Immune Checkpoint in Cancer: Is this a Viable Treatment Option for AML? by Steven J Coles in Open Access Journal of Oncology and Medicine in Lupine Publishers

The immune suppressive mechanisms displayed by malignant cells are considered a central process in the pathogenesis of cancer. Research in this area has gained significant momentu mover the past 20 years, with several immune checkpoints identified, including; CTLA-4, CD200/CD200R, Tim-3/Galectin-9 and PD-L1/PD-1 (Figure 1). Whilst characterising the molecular basis of leukaemia for risk stratification remains at the forefront of AML research; this must now extend to understating how the seimmune checkpoint path ways fit into the equation.

Anti Ulcer Activity of Leea Indica in Wistar Albino Rats: ANOAJ-Lupine Publishers

Objective: Leea indica is a well known plant with numerous pharmacological activities owing to the presence of the active constituents. Inspite of numerous therapeutic uses, efficacy of the plant in treating ulcers is not yet evaluated scientifically. Hence an attempt has been made to evaluate the Antiulcer activity of Leea indica.

Methods: The effect of Leea indica methanolic extract (LIME) on gastric ulcer in pylorus ligation-induced and aspirin induced models was studied by employing LIME at 200 mg/kg, 400 mg/kg. In both the models Ranitidine (40mg/kg) was employed as the standard. Depending on the model, parameters evaluated were total acidity, free acidity, volume and pH of gastric fluid, ulcer score and percent inhibition of ulcer index.

Results: Data were analyzed following graph pad instat version 3.0 followed by Dunnets multiple comparision test. LIME (400mg/ kg) significantly (P<0.01) reduced gastric ulcer index in pylorus ligation-induced and Aspirin induced ulcer models comparable to that of Standard drug. Histopathological studies confirmed that LIME (400mg/kg) possess anti ulcer activity in both models. The elicited activity might be owing to the existence of secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, tannins, and saponins.

Conclusion: Obtained results elucidate the Antiulcer activity of Leea indica methanolic extract. Further investigations on isolation of specific phyto chemicals and elucidating mechanisms of action are needed.

Ethanol Neogenesis in Stored Blood: (PRJFGS) - Lupine Publishers

Ethanol Neogenesis in Stored Blood by Komal Singh in Peer Reviewed Journal of Forensic & Genetic Sciences (PRJFGS) in Lupine Publishers.

Abstract
During the investigation of accidental cases, blood samples obtained from accidental victim are submitted to forensic science laboratory for toxicological analysis. All through, ethanol analysis is performed on almost all cases of blood samples. The main problem is determining alcohol concentration in these cases is changes in Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) that can occur due to neo formation of ethanol. Blood samples stored under in sufficient conditions or for longer times and body fluids have undergone petrifaction often contains certain amount of volatile compounds. In the light of possibility that, neo formation of ethanol in improperly stored blood might give rise to an incorrect estimation of BAC. With this in mind, to study the effect of preservative and temperature on the formation and concentration of ethanol in blood samples, we estimated the ethanol neo genesis in stored and normal blood in different time period (0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days). Head Space-Gas Chromatography instrument used to measure the level of ethanol in blood sample. We found that neo formation of ethanol was observed in normal blood sample. There was no any neo formation observed in blood sample with preservative and blood stored at 4 °C. Our study is supporting the studies which suggest that storage condition will affect the neo formation of ethanol in blood samples.

90 90 90 Formulas and Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome (AFS) of Adult Men: (OSMOAJ) - Lupine Publishers

Abstract
Early decompressive adrenal fatigues have one of the leading causes of neurological disorders and stroke in pharmaceutical Institutions. Health has the ability of a biological system convert into personal satisfaction. The world health organization (WHO) literature for human health in a broader sense in its 1948 constitution as “a state of complete physical and well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It has been subject to controversy, in particular as poor transportation facility in pharmacy institution lacking operational value, the ambiguity in developing low health strategies and because of the problem created by use of the word “social determinants of health”, which makes it practically impossible to achieve healthy environments. Understanding student health and disease with private based co-educational pharmaceutical institution has not transportation facility and low quality food in suburban areas of developing cities in India cannot ignore. Early decompressive adrenal insufficiency has accepted in medical science due to health imbalance. Adrenal fatigue especially from junior students to senior students living with private institution with poor quality of life and facility can translate into permanent disability in the world. We cannot compare adrenal fatigue with joint pain. Adrenal fatigue cannot ignore because it has weaken immunity has unfortunately not measured in the above series.
