Coronary Cameral Fistulae a Scarce Entity by  Ranjan Modi in ACR - Lupine Publishers

Coronary artery fistulae are communication between coronary arteries and other structures like cardiac chamber (coronary cameral fistula) or a vein (coronary arteriovenous fistula) [1]. Coronary fistulae account for 0.2 to 0.4% of the congenital cardiac abnormalities. Spontaneous closure occurs in 23% of small fistulae, primarily those arising from left coronary system in which conservative management may be appropriate [2]. Though surgery still remains the main stay of treatment, interventional closure seems to be an appropriate choice. We present a 20 day old male baby born to non consangious marriage. The neonate was full term delivery in the hospital. Prenatal history was uneventful with no history of any drug intake during pregnancy and regular antenatal care visits with complete immunizations. The baby presented with history of feeding difficulty since birth, no history of recurrent chest infections, no suck rest suck cycle and no cyanosis. The patient had tachycardia with heart rate of 140/min and tachypnoea with respiratory rate of 36/min on examination, blood pressure of 90/60 mmHg - Lupine Publishers.

Plasma Lysophasphatidic Acid Level: A Diagnostic Tool and Benchmark for Ovarian Cancer Managem by Muhammad Imran Qadir in Open Access Journal of Oncology and Medicine in Lupine Publishers

In ovarian cancer there is formation of tumor cells in ovarian tissues. Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) motivated cell proliferation, migration and endurance by acting on its cognate G-protein-coupled receptors. Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), present in ascitic fluid, motivates the enlargement of malignant ovarian tumors by raising the appearance of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in ovarian cancer cells. Ovarian cancer cell progress is repressed by alendronate, a nitrogen containing biophosphate which attenuate the establishment of Rho by blocking the mevalonate pathway.

Intestinal ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) injury is a severe condition resulting from acute mesenteric ischemia, small bowel transplantation, abdominal aortic aneurysm, hemorrhage, trauma, septic shock, or severe burns. Various chemical and cellular mediators have been implicated in the pathogenesis of intestinal ischemia/reperfusion, such as reactive oxygen, cytokines, endotoxins, and neutrophils [1]. Following adhesive interactions among neutrophils and endothelial cells, neutrophil accumulation in the intestinal mucosa contributes to intestinal ischemia/ reperfusion injury via production of reactive oxygen metabolites and proteases. Leukocyte accumulation is a complex phenomenon that also involves endothelium-based adhesion molecules as well as leukocyte chemotaxis factors such as interleukin-8 (IL-8) [2,3]. Intercellular adhesion molecules are normally expressed at a low basal level, but their expression can be enhanced by several inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Diabetes, Dipeptidyl Peptidase IV and Wound Healing: from Basic Science to Therapeutic Possibilities by Lara Baticic Pucar in Open Access Journal of Biomedical Engineering and Biosciences in Lupine Publishers

Diabetes mellitus, a chronic metabolic disease characterized by different pathological outcomes as a consequence of unsettled hyperglycemia, often accompanied with various complications such as chronic ulcers, represents a major socio-economic health problem. Dipeptidyl peptidase IV or CD26 molecule (DPP IV/CD26), is an omnipresent transmembrane protein with significant involvements in different physiological and pathological processes. It has been recognized as a therapeutic option in the treatment of hyperglycemia, especially in patients suffering from type 2 diabetes, given its capability to regulate the biological activity of incretins, which are major regulators of glucose homeostasis. Furthermore, DPP IV/CD26 has been indicated to be involved in the regulation of inflammatory processes as well as cell proliferation and angiogenesis. New scientific evidence shows that inhibition of DPP IV/CD26 leads to a more efficacious healing of chronic ulcers in diabetic patients as well as in mice models of wounded tissue restoration. However, the role of DPP IV/CD26 in the process of wound healing in hyperglycemia is not entirely known. Our aim was to summarize most important findings on the involvement of DPP IV/CD26 in the regulation of glycemia as well as tissue regeneration and reparation. This work reviews basic biochemical mechanisms and therapeutic possibilities of DPP IV/CD26 inhibition as a good candidate in the therapy of diabetic wound healing.

Injury Profile and Risk Factors in a Young High Competitive Population of Judo Athletes by

Judo is a combat sport often related to injuries since it is associated with a significant direct contact [1,2]. Although injuries occur, judo is considered one of the most safest sports activity due to low injury rates [3], being in fact considered by UNESCO as the best sport for children and young people between 4-21 years old. Nowadays, because of the early competitive practice, specialization and intensive training load among young athletes, we are seeing different injury patterns and severity in these ages [2,4,5]. The potential vulnerability of these athletes due to the physical and physiological processes of growth exposed to high levels of activity, is a reason of concern [4,6] which must stimulate the development of this specific knowledge, in particular the analysis of risk factors in order to provide preventive injury programs and educative measures. With this study, we intend to reinforce the epidemiologic knowledge specific to judo in these particular ages, and, by knowing the risk factors and more common injury features and patterns, use them to help.com developing the strategies to control and prevent injuries. Confounding of Brucellosis and Blue Tongue in Trans Humane Sheep Flock of Tamilnadu and other Herd Health Impact by S Kirshna Kumar in CDVS in Lupine Publishers

This present study was carried out to assess the prevalence of brucellosis and blue tongue in a trans humane sheep flock of Tamil Nadu, India. This Sheep flock had a history of inconsistent abortion, repeat breeder, poor fertility rate and higher prevalence of still birth. Serum samples were collected from sheep by random sampling. Serum samples were subjected to Rose Bengal Plate agglutination test (RBT) and ELISA. The risk factors like pregnancy, abortion, age and sex were correlated to the Brucella seropositivity. This study also assessed for the presence of Bluetongue in aborted sheep. It was found that ELISA could be the choice of test for testing of Brucellosis (with the percentage of 57.14). Clinically healthy rams were found to be with brucellosis seropositivity and posed infertility to ewes. It was observed that in trans humane flocks. Brucellosis and Blue tongue has a confounding phenomenon for ovine abortions.

Lighting is the requirement of the present world realized by artificial lighting especially at nights. However, the price paid is not as much rational threatening the national economy. Today, permanent facing with economic problems requires utilizing any potential for economic growth. Smart lighting prevents energy and capital losses; it is applied whenever it needed; and smart streetlights provide lighting whenever any human or vehicle passes. Thus, not only the two factors of lighting and saving national capitals will always last at negligible error, but also, diversity and aesthetic elements granted to cities enjoying the social and economic convenience. It assumed that using smart lighting is one condition of providing these conveniences. However, the question raised here is the infrastructures and utilizing equipment, particularly in traditional cities, to be responded. In conclusion, utilizing such system can lead to cost return and saving in order to achieve national objectives and to unconsciously teach aesthetic, change, and saving culture.

In the era of post genomics, performing a computational analysis to understand the pharmacogenomic based regulation of Psoriasis with respect to the principles of data mining and constructing a regulatory network with respect to the principles of systems biology and analyzing the network with respect to the principles of test statistic remains a challenging task to execute. The challenge was approached by identifying the associated genes of Psoriasis from PharmGkb and it was followed by identifying the associated regulators (MicroRNAs and Transcription Factors) from PharmacomiR/ RegNetworks. Finally the Compatibility of miRNA in regulatory networks was analyzed by the statistical measures of miRmap.

Autoimmune Encephalitis in Children: A Short Review by Shubhankar Mishra in PAPN - Lupine Publishers

Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) comprises an expanding group of clinical syndromes that can occur at all ages, but preferentially affect younger adults and children. These disorders associate with antibodies against neuronal cell surface proteins and synaptic receptors involved in synaptic transmission, plasticity, or neuronal excitability. The spectrums of symptoms include psychosis, catatonia, alterations of behaviour and memory, seizures, abnormal movements, and autonomic dysregulations. Inflammatory findings in the cerebrospinal fluid may be present. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may also demonstrate abnormalities for better diagnosis, particularly on fluid- attenuated inversion recovery or T2-weighted images. Patients may initially be diagnosed with idiopathic encephalitis, likely viral but with negative viral studies. Autoimmune encephalitis should be included in the differential diagnosis of any patient, especially if young, with a rapidly progressive encephalopathy of unclear origin.
